Turn Kick channel points into free giveaway entries

Name a Kick channel points reward, connect your Kick account, and StreamerGiveaway enters every viewer whose redemption comes back accepted. Optionally match one specific reward by name, and the winner is drawn live on your OBS overlay. No bots, no installs, and it costs viewers nothing since points are earned by watching.

The basics

How Kick channel points work here

Channel points on Kick are free loyalty points a viewer earns just by watching a channel that has them enabled, then spends on rewards the streamer sets up. Redeeming one fires a real-time event that StreamerGiveaway listens to directly.

Free for viewers to earn

Points build up automatically while a viewer watches. Redeeming one for an entry never costs them money.

Streamers control redemption

Kick's Channel Points Terms and Conditions give streamers discretion to set redemption rules and announce unique redemption opportunities on their own channel (§4.1, fetched 2026-09-14).

A real-time event per redemption

Every redemption triggers Kick's channel.reward.redemption.updated event, delivered with a pending, accepted, or rejected status (docs.kick.com, fetched 2026-09-14).

Two scopes, read and write

Kick's developer API exposes channel:rewards:read (view rewards) and channel:rewards:write (add, edit, delete rewards), separate, named scopes for reward access (docs.kick.com, fetched 2026-09-14).

Setup

Run a channel points giveaway in five steps

From creating the reward on Kick to a live winner reveal, here is exactly what happens and which Kick event drives each step.

  1. Step 01

Create a channel reward on Kick

In your Kick channel, set up a channel points reward and give it a clear name, such as Enter Giveaway. Kick's Channel Points Terms let streamers set their own redemption rules and announce unique redemption opportunities on their channel (kick.com/channel-points-terms-and-conditions §4.1, fetched 2026-09-14), so the reward is entirely yours to configure.

  2. Step 02

    Log in with Kick

Connect your Kick account to StreamerGiveaway. The app requests the channel:rewards:read scope, described in Kick's own OAuth documentation as permission to "Read Channel points rewards information on a channel" (docs.kick.com, fetched 2026-09-14), so it can see your rewards and match the one you named.

  3. Step 03

Match your reward by name (optional)

Name the exact reward that should count as an entry so the rest of your points shop stays untouched. Leave it unmatched and any redemption on the channel counts instead.

  4. Step 04

    Redemptions flow in as accepted

Kick emits a channel.reward.redemption.updated event each time a viewer redeems, carrying a status of pending, accepted, or rejected (docs.kick.com, fetched 2026-09-14). StreamerGiveaway only counts a redemption once its status is accepted, so a redemption you reject on Kick never enters the draw.

  5. Step 05

Draw the winner on your overlay

When entries close, draw a random winner right on your OBS overlay, live in front of chat. Reroll instantly if a winner is unreachable, and draw up to 500 winners in one giveaway.

Why it stays fair

Only accepted redemptions become entries

Kick reports every redemption with a status: pending, accepted, or rejected. StreamerGiveaway waits for accepted before adding anyone to the pool, so you keep full control over who actually gets in.

Pending

A redemption just came in and is waiting on you. Not yet an entry.

Accepted

The redemption is confirmed and the viewer is entered into the giveaway pool.

Rejected

You declined the redemption on Kick. It never becomes an entry.

Honest scope

Channel points, Kicks, and what is not supported yet

Kick streamers often mix up Channel Points with Kicks, or assume Twitch feature parity. Here is exactly where the two systems differ and what this tool does and does not do on Kick today.

Channel Points: free, watch-earned

Governed by Kick's Channel Points Terms and Conditions. Points are earned by watching and are non-transferable between accounts (kick.com/channel-points-terms-and-conditions, fetched 2026-09-14). This is the free entry method this page is about.

Kicks: paid, separate system

Kicks are a separate gifting good. Kick's KICKs Usage Policy states Kicks "are not currency and have no cash or redemption value" and bans requiring Kicks to enter a giveaway (kick.com/kicks-usage-policy §2.4(b), fetched 2026-09-14). This tool never asks viewers to spend Kicks to enter.

No in-chat winner announcement yet

On Kick, the winner reveal happens on your OBS overlay rather than as a posted chat message. Chat still watches the draw live with you.

No Kick polls, no auto-follow entries

Polls are not available for Kick channels, and new followers are not automatically tracked as entries. Chat keyword, subs and gifted subs, and channel points redemption are the three supported entry methods on Kick.

On-stream overlay

The whole draw plays out on stream

Add one browser source and the redemption count, the draw, and the winner reveal all happen on your overlay, so chat sees it is fair.

One browser source

Add the overlay URL to OBS once. No alt-tabbing to a separate dashboard mid-stream.

Stacks with chat entry

Run channel points alongside a free chat keyword so viewers get two free ways in.

Reroll in a click

Winner offline or unreachable? Reroll instantly without restarting the giveaway.

FAQ

Kick channel points giveaway questions

Can I run a giveaway with Kick channel points?

Yes. Create a channel points reward, log in with Kick, and StreamerGiveaway enters every viewer whose redemption of that reward is accepted. The draw happens live on your OBS overlay, so there is nothing for viewers to install.

Does StreamerGiveaway count every redemption, or only accepted ones?

Only accepted ones. Kick's channel.reward.redemption.updated event reports a status of pending, accepted, or rejected. StreamerGiveaway only turns a redemption into a giveaway entry once Kick reports it as accepted, so a redemption you reject never makes it into the pool.

Can I limit entries to one specific reward?

Yes. Name the exact channel points reward you want to count, such as Enter Giveaway, and only redemptions of that reward are tracked. The rest of your points shop keeps working exactly as before.

Are Kick Channel Points the same as Kicks?

No, and this trips up a lot of streamers. Channel Points are free loyalty points viewers earn by watching, governed by Kick's Channel Points Terms and Conditions. Kicks are a separate paid virtual good used for gifting, and Kick's KICKs Usage Policy states plainly that Kicks "are not currency and have no cash or redemption value" (kick.com/kicks-usage-policy, fetched 2026-09-14). A channel points giveaway never touches Kicks at all.

Can Kicks be required to enter a giveaway?

No. Kick's KICKs Usage Policy explicitly bans lotteries, raffles, sweepstakes, or giveaways requiring use of Kicks to enter (kick.com/kicks-usage-policy §2.4(b), fetched 2026-09-14). Channel points redemption is the compliant free-entry path instead. See our full breakdown in the Kick giveaway rules guide.

Will the winner be announced in Kick chat?

Not automatically. In-chat winner announcements are not yet supported on Kick, so the reveal happens on your OBS overlay instead, which your chat can still watch live with you.

Does this work with Kick polls or automated follower entries?

No to both, and we would rather say so than overclaim. StreamerGiveaway does not support polls on Kick, and it does not automatically track new followers as entries. Channel points, chat keyword, and sub/gifted-sub entry are the three supported entry methods on Kick today.
