Nightbot giveaways usually break for one of three reasons: a stale dashboard session, the bot never joined your channel as a moderator, or a mismatch between Keyword and Active User mode that leaves zero eligible entrants. Here's how to check each one, fix it, and a no-install alternative if it keeps happening.
"Roll it" says no eligible users

Nightbot runs its giveaway from a dashboard the bot has to stay connected to. It watches chat live to build the eligible-user list, so anything that interrupts that connection, a stale login session, a dropped moderator role, an account block, breaks the giveaway without touching your stream at all.
The other common failure isn't a bug, it's a mismatch: you tell chat to type a keyword, but the dashboard is set to Active User mode, so nobody who typed the keyword actually qualifies. Both cases look identical from the streamer's side: you click roll it, and it says nobody's eligible.
Work through these in order. Most Nightbot giveaway problems are solved by the first three.
Step 01
Nightbot's dashboard session goes stale over a long stream and quietly stops talking to your channel. Fully log out of the Nightbot site, log back in, and reopen the Giveaway tab before trying again.
Step 02
If the dashboard says "Nightbot Online" but nothing happens in chat, click through to Leave Channel, then Join Channel again. That single toggle repairs most connection issues without touching any of your other settings.
Step 03
Nightbot needs moderator status to read chat and track entries. If your mod list got reset or Nightbot got accidentally blocked, type /unblock nightbot in your own chat and re-add it as a moderator from your Twitch settings.
Step 04
Active User draws from viewers who chatted in a recent time window, Keyword needs an exact word typed in chat, and Random Number needs the first person to type a generated number. Running one mode while chat thinks it's another is the single most common cause of "no eligible users."
Step 05
There's a known dashboard issue where active chatters don't populate the eligibility list even though chat is clearly connected. A hard refresh (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R) clears it more often than not.
Step 06
Changing the keyword resets everyone's eligibility, and antispam settings can quietly block a viewer who posted the same keyword twice. If entries look thin, check that chat actually used the current keyword and not the one from a few minutes ago.
