A Kick subathon timer is a countdown clock for a subathon on Kick, a marathon stream that runs as long as chat keeps supporting it. Every subscription, gifted sub, or gifted-Kicks batch adds time automatically, the clock displays on stream through an OBS overlay, and when nothing adds more time, the countdown reaches zero and the stream ends.
From the streamer's side it works exactly like a Twitch subathon: connect your account, set your increments, drop in an OBS overlay,and the clock updates live. The mechanics that push it are the ones Kick actually has: subs, gift subs, and gifted Kicks, not Twitch's bits or sub tiers.

Kick does not currently publish a multi-tier subscription system the way Twitch does. Every sub or resub on Kick is treated as the same flat increment on this timer, which keeps the setup one step simpler than the Twitch version.
Why it works
The countdown creates urgency and the increments make every sub visible. Viewers watch their own sub bump the clock, and that feedback loop drives more subs than any panel ever will.
Twitch and Kick, one account
This isn't a Kick-only tool bolted on. The same account type runs subathons on either platform, so a streamer who moves between Kick and Twitch never needs a second login.
Set a hard cap
Decide a maximum length and sleep rules up front. A capped subathon that ends on a high beats an endless one that ends with you falling asleep on camera.

Set your starting time and increments
Pick how long the clock starts with, then decide what a sub, a gifted sub, and 100 gifted Kicks are worth. Kick subs are a single flat rate, so this is simpler than juggling tiers.
Step 03
Post the rules for chat
Put the increments in your Kick chat commands and stream title. Chat pushes harder when everyone knows exactly what a sub or a Kicks gift is worth.
Step 04
Put the timer on stream
Copy your permanent OBS browser-source URL, then customize its colors, size, glow, and visible stats in Overlay Studio.
Step 05
Watch Kick add time live
A sub, resub, gifted-sub batch, or gifted Kicks event arrives, the clock updates atomically, and the event lands in your live activity feed for you and chat to see.
Step 06
Land the ending
When the clock finally dies, make it a moment: final goal check, thank the top gifters, announce the totals. The ending is the clip that sells the next subathon.

Good to know: the source renders from the same server-backed end time as your dashboard. OBS can reload, restart, or change scenes without losing time. Pausing freezes the remaining duration, and resuming creates a new exact end time from that value.

Kicks are Kick's own virtual gift currency, roughly the equivalent of Twitch Bits. When a viewer gifts Kicks on your stream, that event can add time to the subathon clock too, on top of subs and gift subs. It is not the same thing as Bits, which is Twitch-only terminology.
Can I run subathons on both Kick and Twitch?+
Yes. The same StreamerGiveaway account supports both platforms. Connect whichever one you stream on, or connect both and run a subathon on each with its own increments, goals, and OBS overlay, without creating a second account.
Does this Kick subathon timer work for YouTube streams?+
Not yet. Automatic event ingestion currently covers Kick and Twitch. YouTube event connections are not available.
Does the timer survive a page refresh or an OBS restart?+
Yes. The connected countdown is stored as an absolute end time in the database, not as a browser-only number of seconds. Refresh the dashboard, restart OBS, change scenes, or lose power, and every view recalculates from the same trusted end time.
How much time should each Kick sub add?+
Most first subathons start around 30 to 60 seconds per sub or resub, the same per gifted sub, and roughly 30 seconds per 100 gifted Kicks. If your chat is large, halve everything. Try the chill, standard, and marathon presets on this page to see how quickly each setup grows.
What happens when the countdown hits zero?+
The overlay stops at zero and the run is marked complete. Its totals and event history stay in your dashboard, while the OBS source hides until you start another saved subathon.
