What is the StreamerGiveaway poll tool?
It is a free Twitch poll tool that runs live on your stream. You set a question and up to 8 options, viewers vote by typing a chat command like !1 or !2, and the results fill a bar chart on your stream overlay in real time. It works on any Twitch channel, with no affiliate status required.
How do viewers vote in the poll?
Viewers type a simple chat command in your Twitch chat: !1 for the first option, !2 for the second, and so on up to !8. There is nothing to click, no extension to install, and no Channel Points needed. The tally updates live on your dashboard and overlay as votes come in.
Do I need to be a Twitch Affiliate or Partner?
No. Native Twitch polls are limited to Affiliates and Partners, but this tool reads votes straight from chat, so it works for every Twitch channel from your very first stream. See our guide on running a Twitch poll without affiliate status for the full picture.
Is the Twitch poll tool free?
Yes, it is free to start. Log in with Twitch, create a poll, and put the overlay on stream at no cost. You do not need a credit card to run your first polls.
Can I limit voting to subscribers?
Yes. Turn on subscriber-only voting and only your subs can cast a vote. You can also give subscribers a vote weight (for example, count each sub vote as two), which native Twitch polls cannot do.
Can viewers change their vote?
If you allow it, yes. With vote changes on, a viewer can retype a different command to move their vote to another option. Turn it off and the first vote per viewer is locked in.
Does the poll have a timer?
You can set a timer (1, 2, 5, or 10 minutes, or a custom length) or run the poll with no timer and end it manually. When the timer hits zero the poll closes automatically and the overlay shows the final result.
Does it show results live on my stream overlay?
Yes. Add one browser source and the poll bars update on stream as votes arrive. The leading option is highlighted, and the overlay shows the vote hint so new viewers know how to take part.
Does it work with OBS, Streamlabs, and XSplit?
Yes. The overlay is a single browser source URL, so it works in OBS Studio, Streamlabs, XSplit, Twitch Studio, and any broadcasting software that supports a browser source. There is nothing to install for any of them.
Can a mod run the poll for me?
Yes. You can hand a poll to a moderator you trust with one private link. They can set it up, start it, and end it from their own screen, without your password and without access to your account or billing. Pull the link anytime to revoke access.
